Downtown Revitalization Study

Although this study is thirteen years old, most of the suggested improvements still would be good historic preservation practices.  Many of the suggestions would improve walkability-although walkability is not mentioned in the study.  (The term walkability may not have been coined yet in 1997—it certainly seems it was not widely used by architects or planners then.)

The study covered Main Street block by block from Walnut Street on the east to High Street on the west.  (It did not cover the block form Orchard to Walnut streets.)  To see the suggestions and recommendations from the study, click on a block on the map to the left, or select a block from the lists below.
